Stay Slim Without A Gym

Life has become a race for so many of us, and as we speed through life, time really has become a luxury. So when it comes to trying to fit in daily exercise, there isn’t always time. But, what so many people don’t realize, is that you can definitely stay slim without a gym.

Incidental exercise, is the best way to still burn those calories but not feel as if you are failing if you don’t get to the gym. We all get some incidental exercise without realizing it, but if you are stuck at a desk all day these incidental exercise tips with help you get moving and keep your waist line trim.

  1. Take the stairs – Every opportunity you have to take the stairs instead of the elevator – do it. Doing stairs is a great way to increase your heart rate and guuurls, it is one of the best exercises to get toned sexy legs.
  2. Walk and talk – Every time your phone rings, make it a habit to get up as you answer and walk around. This is the absolute easiest way to move more and therefore burn more.
  3. Park further away – If you usually park right by the door, its time to change your ways and find the parking furtherest from the door forcing yourself to get those extra steps in.
  4. Ditch your trolly – When ever you do your groceries try and carry them to the car instead of using a trolly. If you can handle the load, carrying your groceries will throw in a bit of weight training which our bodies need in order to increase bone density, as well as help burn some calories.
  5. Turn social events into active ones – Instead of meeting friend for lunch, coffee or drinks, all of which force you to sit down, organize morning hikes or weekend trails runs, and then treat yourselves to a delicious breakfast after you know you have squeezed in some exercise.
  6. Stretch – If you are stuck in an office all day, sometimes you just need to shake it out by doing a few simple stretches, and some neck and shoulder rolls. This will not only improve your posture, but it will wake up all the muscles and revitalize your energy levels. And, remember stretching forces you to get up and move the body which in turn means you will be burning more than if you stay sitting all day, so give those poor tired muscles a good stretch a few times during the day.
  7. Invest in a pedometre – If you are like me and enjoy a challenge, investing in one of these babies will really encourage you to move more during the day. You can set a daily step target and that will motivate you to walk as much as you can to reach that target.

So there you have it. Proof that you can stay slim without a gym. Now really think about how much incidental exercise you can fit into your day. The key is to move more so I hope these few tips help you do just that.
