All About The Anorak

Spring is here! So, now that it’s getting warmer and the summer months are looming, the Anorak is going to be the first wardrobe essential in my spring series that is going to help us transition into summer.

One of the perks of owning an Anorak is that it isn’t season dependent, and instead, is extremely versatile and easy to wear throughout the year. It could almost be referred to as an all-season coat.

In most cases, the Anorak is a hip length Jacket, with a hood, that is made of work-hard, water resistant/water proof fabric, and as well as keeping you warm in autumn/winter it can still be worn in spring/summer when the weather is slightly more mild.

This jacket is not only current and fashionable, but extremely durable for various types of out-door activities as well. So, if you are like me and you love being active, this jacket is a multi-purpose, year-round staple made for you, and will quickly become one of your wardrobe essentials. The fact that it is so easy to wear and so comfortable will also have you going back again and again.

The Anorak comes in many colours but as you can see I love the army/olive green that I am wearing, because firstly it will go with more than a bright colour would, and secondly, I think this colour is suited to the laid back style of the jacket.

I am dressed for cooler weather in these photos, but the Anorak can also be worn over denim shorts, a lace singlet top and some sandals or sneakers in spring or on cool summer evenings. I like to mix different more feminine fabrics like lace with this piece to create a contrast with the tough more durable fabric of the Anorak.

You can be so creative and produce so many seasonally appropriate looks from just this one piece.
