The Classic White Shirt is another perfect piece to feature in my spring series. It is also so useful for the transition into summer as well as being something you can pull out of your wardrobe all year round.
This piece is an absolute essential to your wardrobe because it can be worn smart or casual, with pants, boots and a coat in winter, or tucked into denim shorts or a mini skirt with flats, heels or sneakers in summer, and yet, the versatility of this piece doesn’t end here! It is ALSO between seasons appropriate, which is the look I have gone for in this post. I have paired my white shirt with a mini, some opaque stockings and boots for a smart-casual spring look.
This shirt truly is a timeless staple, and has been mimicked and reinvented over the years by numerous designers. But, despite the new colours and modern silhouettes, these versions will never replace the iconic Classic White Shirt.
We have seen the white shirt worn by fashion icons such as the late Marilyn Monroe (and many others), and it is still current and stylish in the world of fashion today. So, this shirt, is therefore proof that classic pieces don’t date and are worthwhile investments and additions to our growing timeless wardrobe.
