A Healthy Body = A Healthy Mind

In today’s world, life is a race. It is a constantly moving and evolving, fast paced life that leaves us very little time to unwind. Therefore, stress has become a very normal emotion that all of us have become forced to deal with.

It is crucial that we have ways of relieving stress. Everyone is different and might relieve stress by reading, or drawing or doing therapeutic activities. But, personally…

I believe, that if you take care of your  body and you learn how to live a healthy lifestyle and handle stress (according to what works for you), your mind will be at ease knowing your body is in a healthy/feel-good state.

When I have lots on my mind or when life and work becomes overwhelming, I look forward to that hour everyday where I can be in my own head, I can push my body through something physically challenging, and break into a heavy sweat. To me, there is not better stress reliever than exercise.

The endorphin release that exercise gives us is the most invigorating feeling. It makes me feel strong and healthy, and it really helps clear my head so that I am ready and able to deal with things that are stressing me out.

When they say exercise is the best medicine, they aren’t lying, because, not only does it help control weight loss and prevent/manage a wide range of diseases, it’s fun, it improves your mood and it boosts your energy levels. Exercise also promotes better sleeping patterns which is essential to living a healthy lifestyle.

Therefore, it’s clear that a healthy (looked after and exercised) body, helps keep a healthy mind. So, if you haven’t found your stress reliever yet, I urge you to try exercising even for 30 minutes per day, and you will soon see and feel the positive results, and most importantly you will enjoy taking that time for yourself each day!
